Floral Friday – Allium

Did you know these beautiful purple flowers are a part of the onion family? They are called Allium and they come in all sizes. I’ve seen small ones (golf ball size) and big ones (cantaloupe melon size); this one was in between. Allium are a spring blooming flower like tulips and daffodils so you plant the bulbs in the fall and after the tulips but before the lilacs these gorgeous ball like flowers blossom.

I love how flowers look after the rain.
