I’m always excited with what books I find to bring home from the library and this week was no exception.
I love The Fabulous Beekman Boys, a series on the Planet Green network. The show is about Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge who have moved from NYC to Sharon Springs New York and bought a farm. They went from city life to raising 80 goats (they make cheese & soap!), pigs, chickens, a llama (names Polka Spot and is a total diva) and a garden. They are hilarious and funny and so very entertaining. The 20+ year old farm they bought is called the Beekman mansion and all their products fall under the Beekman 1802 label.
Anyway in October of 2011 they released a cookbook – The Beekman 1802 Heirloom Cookbook. I was thrilled to see it on the shelf this trip – of course it came home with me. I love the look and style of it, I like the recipes, and I love the ‘notes’ space on the side of each recipe where you can write in you own personal notes – brilliant idea! I think I may just have to add this to my Amazon wish list! This book needs to be in my collection. I can’t wait to try the Corn Chowder Salad, Herbed Green Beans, Homemade Lemonade with Lavender and Vanilla, and Pea Pod Risotto.
Here is what else came home with me!
And this one I kept from my last trip. There are some recipes I’d still like to try. Might end up adding this one to my wish list too 🙂
