My last Tasty Tuesday post was back in early December. It’s not that I didn’t want to share more recipes it’s that nothing has jumped out at me. Throughout December up until Christmas it was a sea of cookies and baked goods everywhere. It’s not that I don’t like cookies or baked goodies it’s just its sooooo overdone from Thanksgiving to New Years and all the holidays in between. After Christmas posts were mostly a wrap up of favorite posts throughout the year. Some of those recipes I missed or forgot about so I might go revisit those posts and share my favorites of the favorites.
This week I decided to share a recipe that didn’t appear on a blog, well that’s not true is did, sort of. The recipes were a column in the food section of the Portland Press Herald and then the author (and my friend), Annie Mahle, posted an extra recipe on her blog At Home & At Sea (which if you love cooking, garden, knitting and family is a great blog to read!).
Her recipes were for Waffles. I know not very exciting right? Wrong! Her recipes didn’t even come close to plain ole boring waffles. Nope she created recipes for Potato Cilantro, Chili Chocolate, Mocha and Coconut Orange Chocolate Waffles and the bonus recipe of Peanut Butter Banana Waffles. Uh huh – I just know you are drooling now! She even shared with me that she’d created the Coconut Orange Chocolate recipe with yours truly in mind as orange and chocolate is my favorite combination – serious yum going on I tell ya.
I love breakfast for dinner but this brings a whole new menu to the table. Now where to find a waffle iron? Ahhh yes, hello there my Amazon wish list…hint hint to my hubby. 🙂
