Here I am 11pm on Sunday night. Finally done with the weekend – and what a weekend it was. It’s been so busy I haven’t had time to sit but for a moment and even in sitting I was still doing something. I’m sorry for the lack of routine with a News from the Maine Coast, E’s Weekly TV Round-up, Scene it Saturday (which just went a few minutes ago) and Sunday Night Television posts. In lieu of those posts I’m hoping you’ll enjoy a recap of my weekend….because it was a really good one.
Saturday started with my daughters first basketball game of the season. I love how excited she gets when it’s game time – literally jumping up and down. This is her 3rd year with this same group of girls though there’s been an addition of a 4th grader and they lost 2 of the older girls who are now in 7th grade. It was a painful start to the game as their new coach (don’t get me started on that cuz I’ll go into rant mode) didn’t really know
what she was doing know what the girls were capable of. It was around the end of the 2nd quarter that they kinda stopped listening and just started doing what they knew. From there it was great. They played the positions they knew and they passed like they had learned. The team came back from a 4-8 score to win the game 16-13. They were proud of themselves as they should be. Only one injury – a bloody nose which now requires a new white t-shirt. 🙂
From the game we came home for A to shower and then we scooted down to In Good Company, a restaurant here in Rockland, for my aunt and uncles surprise 40th anniversary. Of course by the time we got there the surprise had been had but it was great that we could be there to congratulate them and see a lot of my family. I love when we all get together and wish that we had more time to stay and visit with everyone. But no time to relax….
After leaving the party we dropped A at a friends for a sleepover and Mark and I drove 2 hours to Dover-Foxcroft to see my bonus kids. Actually we were going to the Foxcroft Academy Holiday Music Concert as Ra (my bonus daughter) is in the orchestra, choir and select choir. We got to see my bonus son for only a few minutes – but at least I got my hug! 🙂 Ra did a great job and I have to say the music program at the school is fantastic. I’m including the link if you’d like to check it out. Ra is the gal in the front row (sort of standing by herself) in the second video (FA Choir) and the 4th person in the first row from the left of the FA orchestra video (kinda in front of the conductor) and the girl on the end in the FA’s Select Choir video. I’m so glad someone recorded it so we could watch it again. Yep I’m a proud bonus mama! 🙂
By the time we got home it was 11pm and crash. We got to sleep in because A was at the sleepover – woo hoo! We got up, picked her up and went to get a Christmas tree. After some rearranging and cleaning we got the tree in the house, lights on and decorated today all while watching the Patriots game (barely squeaked that win out). A quick dinner of grilled cheese (scrambled eggs for me) and onto the Christmas cards which finally got done and are ready to go out in the mail. And there you have it. It’s 11:30 on Sunday night and no blog posts scheduled – guess what I’m doing tomorrow night?!? 🙂
So tell me about your weekend. What did you do that was fun and exciting or just plain ole boring? I want to hear about it.
