Thursday is Library Day

As I read more about food photography, look at more cookbook photos, and make more food photographs myself I am finding out what my style is. It wasn’t too long ago that a certain style of food photography started to peek my interest.  The more photos I looked at the more sure I was that these were this was a style I wanted to shoot in . It turns out the photos I was looking at were all made by the same photographer – go figure!  So just before Thanksgiving I did some research on Quentin Bacon and requested all the cookbooks I could find from the library. Today I picked up the last one. Guess what I’m doing for the next few weeks!

And not a cookbook but still photographs by Quentin Bacon – Health & Beatuy the Natural Way by Nerys Purchon

I also brought home a that Baby Beanies knitting book I had a few weeks ago – wanted to grab another pattern from it (I was told it’s the only copy from a library in the state!). In addition to that I picked up The Locavore’s Kitchen by Marilou Suszko (lots of recipes I like in this one) and We Sure Can by Sarah Hood (I love the idea of canning more).

I now have a huge pile of books at the foot of my bed and I can’t wait to dig in and study the photos and recipes within.
