Savory Samplings

I finally had time today to sit and read the many blog posts that I’d been neglecting for the last couple of weeks. Actually it wasn’t because I didn’t want to read everything all my favorite bloggers had to say, it was because I’ve made the move of my 200 blogs from Bloglines, who is closing up shop, to Google Reader and I don’t like it. {stomps foot in protest and pouts the bottom lip} And I’m still not 100% sold on Reader but there aren’t many other options out there.

I save the food related blogs for last as they are my favorite. I get excited every time I see a new recipe has been posted wondering with anticipation if its something I’m going to want to try. Well……here are this weeks recipes that have made it from blog to my list of “To Try” recipes!

Inn the Kitchen – Smoked Sage & Butternut Squash Pasta

Epicurious – Beef, Shiitake, and Snow Pea Stir-Fry

Smitten Kitchen – Mushroom Lasagna and Skirt Steak Salad w/ Blue Cheese

She’s In the Kitchen – Devil’s Food Chocolate Espresso Muffins

Eat the Love – Gluten Free Fig & Raspberry Mascarpone Tart w/ Local honey
(The newest addition to my food blogroll is someone I met by chance on Twitter 🙂  You had me at Mascarpone! )

  1. Aww bugger, I’m sorry you don’t like Google Reader…. have you tried reading them in iGoogle? I have an iGoogle homepage that I have them all lined up on, in pretty little rows. I can see when a new one has been posted, expand it on that page to read it, or open up the original webpage to read it… It works well for me, but I only have a quarter of the blogs that you do to follow.

  2. I think part of it Amanda is that its new and its not the same as Bloglines. It’s actually not the reading part its the ability to save that I don’t really like. If I had a button to save a post I’d be all set – the rest of the program I don’t mind. But I bookmark sooooo many recipes so I don’t have to print them out until I’ve tried them that it’s really annoying to not have that feature.

I can’t imagine reading them in iGoogle – that page would go on forever, lol. All I can say is thank goodness not everyone posts every day or I’d have to cut back on them!
