It’s been awhile since I posted. I was just thinking the other night how I actually missed posting on here and vowed to get back to it that night. Well, as it happens…life happened. So here’s to a new start, a new look and new projects.
So here is it Saturday and I am again vowing to post. I’ve got lots on my mind and a lot has been going on. I’m also wanting to start a couple of projects. As I’m working on my photography… which still hasn’t made it past flowers, food and my family….. I have been doing a lot of reading and studying others styles and work. I’ve discovered more of what I like and what I don’t as well as what I want to be photographing and what I don’t. I’m also noticing that I have never grown out of my flower girl stage from childhood.
One of the projects I’ve started on is to find and photograph heart shaped rocks. I was going to go with calling them “Love Rocks” or “Heart Stones” but those names have been trademarked. So I think I’m going to go with “Cupid’s Cobble” or “Cupid’s Cobblestones”. What do you think? Can you think of another name that would work?
The photo is of my first “Cupid’s Cobble”. Annie and Chloe actually found this one for me on Hell’s Half Acre Island off Stonington. I think its kind of funny to find a Cupid rock on an island with that name! If you happen to find a heart shaped rock take a photo and send it to me!
My next project is called Project 365. I first read about Project 365 in one of my photography blogs, Photojojo. I thought to myself this seems really interesting, but how in the world will I ever find something to photograph everyday. It seemed too hard to do. But then a little over a month ago another photography blogger Ryan of Ryan J. Moore Photography (actually just a few towns away in Belfast) started Project 365. He is actually the reason I’ve decided to start the project myself. He is a much better photographer then I am , but perhaps through this project I will become better and be able to hone in on my photography skills.
Well I’ve probably bored you enough for now…if you’ve even read this far….just seeing if you are still paying attention ;-). Like I mentioned before though, I’ve got lots to catch up on and lots to say. So until next time….
