Family

13 days later

Okay, okay, so I haven’t kept up with this over the holidays. But really, who can blame me. I took a week off from work, barely got out of my PJ’s, stayed up late, slept in, played with Barbie’s, colored in coloring books, played with play dough and barely touched the computer! It was great.

So here is the quick overview…well besides what I just wrote:

On Saturday the 23rd we went to Mark’s mom and dad’s to have Christmas there. Got to see Carl and Kristin (Mark’s brother and sister-in-law), Matthew, and Aiden….well not quite Aiden as he is still a bump in the belly! It was nice and quiet….well except when the kids opened their presents. We got Carl & Kristin gift cards….I know a bit impersonal, but they work great! Anyway…..with my love for wrapping they were a little hard to unwrap due to the, evidently, excessive tape. So when Anna opened her Princess Barbie with horse, I was due some payback. It took me longer to get the darn thing out of the package then it did to drive to the store, pick it out, check out, drive home, wrap it, and for Anna to unwrap it!!! Anyway it was a very pleasant day and it was really nice to just hang out with my soon to be in-laws.

On Sunday the 24th we hung out all day, I cooked and we went to my moms for dinner. Now my family has a seafood tradition every year. We have Mussel Chowder and Scallop Chowder. On Christmas morning we have crab quiche, and for dinner we do lobster every couple of years. This year for Christmas Eve my mom made the standard Mussel Chowder and I brought a Cauliflower, Cheddar, Jalapeno Soup….one of Annie’s recipes (and one I’ve made since too…its really good!). We went driving around after dinner to look at every one’s lights and were all in bed by 11! Not too shabby!!

Christmas day we took it easy, Anna slept in until 8am! I know, I couldn’t believe it either. That afternoon we went to Maggie’s house for dinner and we were home by 5pm.

New Year’s eve Mark and I did stay up and watched a couple of movie and then spent all New Years day watching the Bowl games. It was nice.

So that about wraps up the holidays. Now I’m back to work, and actually quite glad. It was nice to just relax and not do too much, but its nice to be back into my swing.

My next post will let you know what my New Years resolutions are.
