Another one of our Christmas break activities was ice skating at MRC (Midcoast Recreation Center). I’ve only skated once and it was on a rink with very few people so I sat this one out and knit on a hat while Mark, Ra, Ri, and A skated. We all had a good time.

I’m really excited to be a part of the Baked Pop-Up (a bake sale in an unexpected place) that is taking place in Rockland next Saturday where all the proceeds will be donated to the Good Shepherd Food Bank in southern Maine. My friend Sharon (check out her blog Delicious Musings) came up with the idea [...]

This past Thursday there was a snow day for both school & work, our first of the year. The weather just screamed “comfort food” so that’s what I made. Rosemary Chicken & Dumplings is perfect for a snow day dinner. I know I shared the recipe with you last year but I’m sharing it again because it’s that [...]

Yesterday and today’s weather has made for some great photo ops. Not wanting to be out IN the freezing rain I’ve opted to enjoy the view from the comfort of four walls, a roof and cozy slippers! On the very short walk from my vehicle to the office door this morning my eye caught the [...]

I couldn’t tell you when I first started to love making photographs. I’m not one of those ‘I’ve been taking photos since I was a kid’ kind of stories. It’s been gradual; less than 10 years that I’ve really enjoyed the art. I find the more I shoot the more particular I get about the [...]

This week’s Floral Friday photo is….well I’m not sure it really counts as a flower but I’m posting it anyway. So there. I love how Christmas-y these look along the side of the road.

I don’t actually have a photo of my WIP today. But I’m still working on the same sock. Last night I got to the heal flap and am a third the way done. I’m hoping to finish that tonight and perhaps a bit further. I’ve decided I’m still going to give it my best effort [...]

Just the other day I walked outside and out of the corner of my eye saw a flash of yellow in the strawberry patch. This lone dandelion. Such a strange sight for the first week of December but it was a lovely splash of color among the green and red leaves.
