For Christmas I had made Ra a pair of socks and previous to that A a pair. So it was no surprise that Ri asked if I would make him something. It only took me 2 1/2 days to make my first full size hat. I didn’t use a pattern just basic knit and purl [...]

Another one of our Christmas break activities was ice skating at MRC (Midcoast Recreation Center). I’ve only skated once and it was on a rink with very few people so I sat this one out and knit on a hat while Mark, Ra, Ri, and A skated. We all had a good time.

This is a little bit late coming as this snowman was made over Christmas break. On the other hand it’s still winter so….. This was a year that we had both my bonus kids with us over Christmas break. One of the few days we actually had snow Ri and A went outside to make [...]
2012 Resolutions – I Resolve To…
Posted in Holidays, Random Thoughts, Uncategorized, tagged 2012, New Year's Resolutions on January 1, 2012 | 2 Comments »
I don’t typically make resolutions for the new year as I hardly ever follow through with them. Why set myself up to fail at something – it makes no sense. I found a list similar to this a few years ago and have decided to borrow the idea and add my own personality to them. It reminds me to [...]

I couldn’t tell you when I first started to love making photographs. I’m not one of those ‘I’ve been taking photos since I was a kid’ kind of stories. It’s been gradual; less than 10 years that I’ve really enjoyed the art. I find the more I shoot the more particular I get about the [...]

I don’t actually have a photo of my WIP today. But I’m still working on the same sock. Last night I got to the heal flap and am a third the way done. I’m hoping to finish that tonight and perhaps a bit further. I’ve decided I’m still going to give it my best effort [...]
Weekend – Where Did You Go?

Here I am 11pm on Sunday night. Finally done with the weekend – and what a weekend it was. It’s been so busy I haven’t had time to sit but for a moment and even in sitting I was still doing something. I’m sorry for the lack of routine with a News from the Maine [...]

It’s Work in Progress Wednesday! I’m still working on that pair of socks for a Christmas gift and need to get my fingers shifted into high gear if I’m going to make it on time.

Yes, yes….I know this is several days overdue to you all but better late than never, right?! J Now, where did I leave off…. It’s Thursday morning and I’m ready to tackle this turkey. As I lift it out of the fridge I’m both excited and nervous. I grab ahold of the mesh bag and [...]
