For Christmas I had made Ra a pair of socks and previous to that A a pair. So it was no surprise that Ri asked if I would make him something. It only took me 2 1/2 days to make my first full size hat. I didn’t use a pattern just basic knit and purl [...]

Another one of our Christmas break activities was ice skating at MRC (Midcoast Recreation Center). I’ve only skated once and it was on a rink with very few people so I sat this one out and knit on a hat while Mark, Ra, Ri, and A skated. We all had a good time.

This past Thursday there was a snow day for both school & work, our first of the year. The weather just screamed “comfort food” so that’s what I made. Rosemary Chicken & Dumplings is perfect for a snow day dinner. I know I shared the recipe with you last year but I’m sharing it again because it’s that [...]

So yesterday was Work in Progress Wednesday and I missed it again! I had fully intended on posting last night but I got watching Nanny McPhee with my daughter and couldn’t bring myself to do anything else but watch. Of course the voice of a 10 yr old saying I wish you wouldn’t knit while [...]

I couldn’t tell you when I first started to love making photographs. I’m not one of those ‘I’ve been taking photos since I was a kid’ kind of stories. It’s been gradual; less than 10 years that I’ve really enjoyed the art. I find the more I shoot the more particular I get about the [...]

I can’t stop thinking about cooking this turkey and the more I think about it the more nervous I get. I tried to stop thinking about it and ended up forgetting to take it out of the freezer Sunday night and didn’t remember that I’d forgotten until 10am on Monday – whoops! See, I’ve gotten myself all worked up! [...]

My name is Elizabeth. I’m 33 years old. I have never cooked a whole turkey, or chicken for that matter. This year, this Thanksgiving, will be the last time I will be able to say that. This year I am going for it. I’m making our family turkey. And so the adventure begins. Step 1 [...]
